These terms are an agreement between you and ZanshinTraders ("we", "us") for your use of Zanshin (the "Service"). The Service includes the website, the web app, the installable phone (home-screen) app, the Windows desktop app, the Zanshin Support assistant and the private Zanshin Discord community. All of the apps use the same account. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Please read section 20 (Dispute resolution) carefully. It requires most disputes to be resolved by binding individual arbitration instead of in court, and waives class actions and jury trials. You can opt out within 30 days of creating your account (section 20).
1. The Service
Zanshin is a trading journal that grades your trading process, not your profit or loss. It offers:
- screenshot journaling and an honest checklist;
- automated chart-reading "bots" and a process score;
- a P&L calendar and Performance Insights;
- goals, daily check-in messages and reminders;
- a community for Premium members.
We may add, change or remove features. If a change materially reduces what paying members receive, we will tell you in advance, and you may cancel.
2. Eligibility (18+)
You must be at least 18 years old, and legally able to enter into a binding contract where you live. You confirm this when you create an account. We will close accounts that we learn belong to someone under 18. You may not use the Service if the law prohibits you from doing so.
3. Your account and username
- Email confirmation: you must confirm your email address before you can use your account. Keep your email up to date. We send important notices there.
- Username: your account has a username of 3–20 characters, using letters, numbers and underscores. Usernames may be shown to other users, for example in community features. You must not choose a username that:
- impersonates another person, brand, organisation or Zanshin staff;
- is offensive, hateful or sexually explicit;
- is misleading, for example one that suggests you are a licensed adviser or an official Zanshin account;
- infringes someone else's trademark or rights.
- Security: keep your password confidential, and do not reuse it on other services. Use "Keep me signed in" only on devices you trust. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at zanshinfounder@zanshintraders.com if you suspect unauthorised access, and use Sign out everywhere in Settings.
- One person, one account. Do not share your account. Accounts are personal and cannot be sold or transferred.

5. Free trial
- Every new account gets a 7-day Premium trial, free, with no payment card required.
- When the trial ends, your account moves to Basic automatically. You will not be charged, and your data is kept. To continue with Pro or Premium, you must choose a plan and pay.
- One trial per person. Creating extra accounts to get more trials is not allowed. We may limit trials where we detect abuse, and we may change or end trial offers for new accounts at any time.
6. Subscriptions and automatic renewal
Automatic renewal terms
- Monthly Pro: $6.99, charged every month until you cancel.
- Yearly Pro: $69.99, charged every year until you cancel.
- Monthly Premium: $19.99, charged every month until you cancel.
- Yearly Premium: $199, charged every year until you cancel.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and your payment method is charged the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Cancel any time online at Settings → Manage billing. It takes a couple of clicks, and you do not need to contact us.
- After you cancel, your plan continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Your account then moves to Basic and your data is kept.
- Consent: before you subscribe, we show you these terms and ask for your consent. By subscribing, you authorise us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method at the start of each period until you cancel.
- Confirmation: after you subscribe, we email you a confirmation with the renewal terms, the price, the billing interval and how to cancel.
- Yearly renewal reminder: we will email you between 15 and 30 days before each yearly renewal. The email gives the date, the amount and how to cancel.
- Switching interval: you can switch between monthly and yearly in the billing portal. The change applies from your next renewal, unless the portal says otherwise.
- Failed payments: if a payment fails, Stripe may retry. If it still cannot be collected, your account moves to Basic and your data is kept.
[Lawyer: check compliance with state automatic-renewal laws (e.g. California Bus. & Prof. Code §17600 et seq.), the FTC's rules, and any non-US requirements, including renewal-reminder timing.]
7. Price changes
We may change plan prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a new price applies to your subscription. The new price takes effect from your next renewal after the notice period. If you do not want to pay it, cancel before that renewal. Trials and refunds are not affected retroactively.
8. Refunds
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy. In short: your first paid-plan payment (Pro or Premium), monthly or yearly, is fully refundable if you ask within 7 days of that charge, once per customer. Other refunds are at our discretion, except where the law requires otherwise. Trials are free, so there is nothing to refund.
9. Your content
You own your journal. The trades, notes, screenshots, goals and other content you add ("Your Content") remain yours. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, analyse and display Your Content only to run and provide the Service to you. That covers running the bot council, generating scores, insights, overlays and emails, making backups, and keeping the Service secure. We do not make Your Content public, sell it or use it for advertising. The licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, apart from backups, which are rolled off as described in the Privacy Policy. You confirm that you have the right to upload Your Content, and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights. You can export or delete Your Content at any time.
10. Acceptable use
Our Acceptable Use Policy applies. In particular, you must not:
- hack, or attempt unauthorised access to, any account, system or data;
- probe, scan or test for vulnerabilities, except under our responsible disclosure policy;
- scrape, crawl or harvest data by automated means;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the Service, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
- overload or disrupt the Service;
- upload malware;
- bypass plan limits, rate limits, trial rules or access controls;
- share your account;
- resell, sublicense or repackage the Service or its output, including as a signal or advisory product;
- use the Service for anything unlawful, including fraud and market manipulation.
Zanshin indicators (Premium)
While you have an active Premium membership, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Zanshin TradingView indicator(s) we share through the Zanshin Discord, for your own trading education. You may not copy, resell, republish, share access to, decompile or remove notices from them. Access ends when your Premium membership ends or if you break these terms. The indicators are provided "as is"; they are analysis tools, not signals, recommendations or financial advice, and they may contain errors. TradingView is a third-party service with its own terms; we are not affiliated with it.
11. Community conduct (Discord)
The private Zanshin Discord community is a benefit of Premium, and Discord's own terms and guidelines also apply. In the community you must:
- be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, threats, or sexual or violent content;
- not sell or promote signals, courses, "account management", or referral or affiliate links, and not solicit members privately for these;
- not share other members' personal information, or private-channel content, outside the community;
- not present opinions as guaranteed outcomes, and not impersonate staff;
- not spam, raid or post malicious links.
Members' posts are their own opinions, not advice from us. Moderators may remove content, mute or remove members, and take away the Premium role for breaches. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to termination under section 16. When Premium ends, the Premium role is removed automatically.
12. Copyright complaints (DMCA)
We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent containing:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
- identification of the infringing material, and enough information for us to find it;
- your contact details: address, telephone number and email;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act for the owner.
Designated agent: Ayden Fish, ZanshinTraders, 29270 Three Notch Rd, Unit A, Mechanicsville, MD 20659, zanshinfounder@zanshintraders.com.
If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. §512(g). We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. [Owner: register the agent with the U.S. Copyright Office.]
13. Third-party services
The Service relies on, or links to, third-party services. These include Stripe for payments, Discord for the community, our email and hosting providers, Wikiquote for quotes, and podcast sites in the inspiration feed. Your use of these services is governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, their content or their availability. Links to them do not mean we endorse them.
14. No advice, no guaranteed results
The Service is for education and self-review only. It is not financial advice. Zanshin is not a broker, investment adviser or signals service. The bots and insights are automated and can be wrong. We make no guarantee of any trading result, profitability or improvement. Trading involves substantial risk of loss, and you alone are responsible for your trading decisions. See the Disclaimer.
15. Our intellectual property
The Service is owned by ZanshinTraders and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. This includes its software, bots, designs, names and logos. Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own trading journal. If you send us feedback, we may use it freely, with no obligation to you.
16. Suspension and termination
- You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, from Settings → Your data.
- We may suspend or terminate your access, or remove content, in these cases:
- you materially or repeatedly breach these terms;
- the law requires it;
- it is needed to protect the Service, our users or others.
- If we terminate a paid subscription without cause, we will refund the unused part of the current period.
- Where lawful, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export Your Content after termination.
- These sections survive termination: 9, 12, 14, 15 and 17–23.
17. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service, any bot verdict or any insight will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that defects will be corrected. The Windows desktop app is not currently code-signed. Download it only from our official website.
18. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- ZanshinTraders and its owners, staff and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages. Nor will they be liable for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to the Service, even if we were told such damages were possible.
- We are not liable for any trading or investment losses. This includes losses connected with bot verdicts, process scores, insights, check-in messages, community posts or third-party content.
- Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, or limits your statutory consumer rights.
19. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless ZanshinTraders and its owners and staff from claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from:
- your breach of these terms;
- Your Content;
- your misuse of the Service;
- your conduct in the community.
20. Dispute resolution
Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at zanshinfounder@zanshintraders.com with a description of the dispute, and to try to resolve it informally for at least 30 days. We agree to do the same.
Binding individual arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and ZanshinTraders agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service (a "Dispute") will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, except as set out below. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. The arbitrator, and not a court, decides questions about the scope, enforceability and interpretation of this agreement to arbitrate, except that a court decides questions about the class-action waiver and the mass-arbitration procedure below.
Rules, location and fees. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules in effect when the claim is filed (available at adr.org), before a single arbitrator. Hearings will take place by video or phone, or in person in the county where you live if you prefer, or on written submissions only for claims of $10,000 or less. Your share of filing and arbitrator fees is limited to what the AAA Consumer Rules require, and we pay the rest. The arbitrator can award the same individual relief a court could, but only to you individually and only as needed for your individual claim.
Class-action and jury-trial waiver. You and ZanshinTraders may bring claims against each other only individually, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not combine more than one person's claims. You and ZanshinTraders each waive the right to a jury trial. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) will be decided in court under section 21, after any individual arbitration is finished.
Mass arbitration. If 25 or more similar arbitration demands are filed against us or by us by the same or coordinated counsel, they will be administered in batches of up to 25 under the AAA's Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules, and statutes of limitation are paused for demands waiting in later batches.
Exceptions. Either party may (a) bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies; (b) ask a court for an injunction to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property, or unauthorised access to the Service; and (c) report concerns to a government agency.
30-day opt-out. You can opt out of this agreement to arbitrate by emailing zanshinfounder@zanshintraders.com within 30 days of first creating your account, with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" and the email address on your account. Opting out does not affect any other part of these terms, and Disputes will then be resolved in court under section 21.
Where this section does not apply. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place whose consumer law does not allow pre-dispute arbitration or class-action waivers with consumers, this arbitration section does not apply to you, and you may bring claims in the courts available to you under that law.
Changes and survival. If we change this section, the change will not apply to Disputes you had already told us about. This section survives the end of your account.
Small claims. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, if it qualifies.
21. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where a Dispute is not arbitrated under section 20, it will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maryland. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in your local courts where the law gives you that right.
22. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes, we will notify you by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect, and update the effective date above. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, cancel and stop using the Service before then. Changes do not apply to disputes that arose before the change.
23. General
- Entire agreement: these terms and the policies linked above are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. They replace any earlier agreements.
- Severability: if any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
- Assignment: you may not assign or transfer these terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, or to an affiliate.
- Force majeure: neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
- Notices: we may give notices by email to your account address or in the app. You may give notices to zanshinfounder@zanshintraders.com.
- Language: these terms are written in English. Any translation is for convenience only.
